2016 Research & Creative Works Symposium Winning T-shirt Design
My production class was tasked with creating a space-themed design that cohesively incorporated the words "Research & Creative Works Symposium". After hours of doodling in my notebook I came up with a number of little illustrations that I wanted to somehow work together. I cut out and pasted pieces of my drawings and placed them together to create my original design. I then scanned it and digitized my drawing. My design was selected by the symposium committee to be used on the final t-shirt and bag designs, which were given out to symposium participants.
The above graphic was illustrated first in my notebook and then through various scanning processes, I brought my drawing to digital life. I competed with all of the VCD students from Eastern to win this t-shirt design and was thrilled to see students both wearing and carrying it (bag design below). The most rewarding part was having many students tell me that this was their favorite symposium shirt.
