Merchant's Craft Soda Packaging
In November of 2017 my company was tasked with creating the first exclusive brand for URM (United Retail Merchants). The first product we helped them design and launch was their new line of sodas called "Merchant's Craft" (arrived in stores May 2018). This brand was created to replace the newly retired Western Family soda line.
In April of 2018 I was sent on a solo trip to Cheraw, SC to review the pilot run of the four signature soda cans (See photos below). My company trusted me as the traveling representative as I am the only designer to have been part of this project from start to finish.
From photographing digital ads to hand drawing the fruit on the cans, I have put my heart and soul into this project. It is a northwest brand for northwest people and that is something I can greatly relate to.

4 of the 17 flavors received special design treatment as they are new original flavors that can only be found here in the northwest. The designs developed on each of these cans draws heavily from the themes seen throughout the PNW.
One example of this can be seen within the "Fizzle Berry" packaging as there are big-foot characters hidden throughout the design. My company was first tasked with naming this new neon-blue cotton-candy flavored drink. After agreeing on a name we came up with the concept that "Fizzle Berries" are the food of the big-foot and the reason they are rarely seen is because of the shortage of berries that has begun over the last century.
